Weightlifting warmup relay for our Wednesday athletes. Developing Physical literacy in our youth athletes is a key focus of our training. Timing, jump, balance, coordination, speed can all be developed away from the bar and we believe, at a young age, it’s not only beneficial to do so, but necessary to develop these before weightlifting technique can be mastered. .

People with low back pain, even symptoms of sciatica, are often walking around with instagram butt (anterior pelvic tilt). Train your brain to control your pelvis (giant hip bone where your spine is rooted) better through movement 🤔

LOTS of stuff is attached to the hips, so learn how to find neutrality (right in the middle) so that when you sit and you stand your in good positioning and pain FREE. 🙏

A short walk on a treadmill or a quick, five minutes stationary bike ride is a good way to kick things off. Follow this up with some neck rotations, shoulder rolls and hip rotations.

Il riscaldamento specifico o warm up specifico è una pratica eseguita in successione al riscaldamento generale; in particolare si inizierà a muoversi con progressioni base fino al vero e proprio gesto tecnico come per esempio andare ad eseguire un 1RM (1 rep max) o un 3RM (3 rep max). Studies show that this style of stretching may not be the best way to improve performance before physical activity. .

Using a static stretching program prior to engaging in physical activity may inhibit the muscle’s ability to fire properly

The main reason for this is a reduction in muscle tension and an increase in length between resting muscle fibers. 
So these two factors change the length-tension relationship of the muscle, which causes a decrease in muscle excitability. 
What happens then?🤷‍♂️ .

This can directly affect the muscle’s ability to optimally function. .

Lets take this for example - Think of the tension in a rubber band. When you stretch a rubber band and hold that stretch for a long time, it causes the rubber band to increase in length but lose the stored elasticity or "energy". The band’s tension is what allows the band to be functional. .

I got to test my new #activ5 portable workout device at the park today!  I had so much fun with it because you literally CAN use it anywhere and it gives you real-time feedback! 
It was perfect for my #handstand prep warmup among many other things as I always start with low impact and isometric-based exercises (like planking to warmup my handstand frame including my shoulders and chest) and before the real stuff begins 🤸🏽‍♀️.. .
