Low calorie diets
It may be tempting to cut as much as you can from your diet to try to fix your weight and health problems, but restricting calories to very low levels is fraught with risks - and it may not even work in the long term.

When we're looking to lose weight, the first thing we often think of is to slash the calories in our diet to as low a level as possible.

We ditch the carbs, fatty foods, snacks and even meat and other protein in a bid to stick to a low-calorie plan.

From now on, we tell ourselves, our diet will comprise only low-calorie salads, steamed vegies, fruit and just a few low-fat dairy products.

We might even skip meals altogether, convincing ourselves that so long as our calories are as low as possible, all will be fine.

Or we'll try some fad diet or a meal-replacement program, thinking that will cure our ills.

We think we'll achieve the body we want on a diet of barely any calories and we'll live happily ever after.

The problem is that very low-calorie diets come with their own problems and even the best of them should be avoided

The risks and side-effects of these diets include:

Fatigue

Nausea, constipation and/or diarrhoea

Gallstones

Heart problems

Anaemia

Loss of lean muscle mass

Gout

Electrolyte imbalances

The reason you may suffer with all or any of these side-effects is partly because of the rapid changes your body goes through, and partly because it's difficult to receive all the nutrients you need from so few calories

Moving to the Gold Coast has been an absolute blast so far🏖 Being able to cook fresh food and having a housemate that also eats healthy has been awesome🥗🌮🍗🥑Training at the gym 5 days a week, hot yoga sessions once a week and being back on the mats training in Brazilian jujitsu once a week has allowed me to see changes in my physique with me being slightly leaner whilst putting on a little bit of muscle mass💪 #healthyliving #gains #staylean #healthyeating #gymlife #fitness #goldcoast #healthylifestyle #happy #healthybodies #grateful #bjj #hotyoga

Cheese is optional, but I always like mine with it 🧀. Top with crushed taco chips of your choice for that crunch = the perfect weekday salad 🥗. When you take selfies at 5 am...then literally fall over almost everything in your room because you are still too tired...😅🙈😂😂😂😂
Well, this happened to me.
On the other hand, here's a little inspiration for you. Not because I want to brag just to show you how much you can do within a day...especially if you wake up early.
I did almost 50 things yesterday.😱😱😱
I'm VERY grateful for it. If you are focused, you can do more within a day than you would do within a day.

BENEFITS ⬇️
✔️increase glute strength ✔️better mechanics of pelvis, spine + legs ✔️get higher, rounder firmer glutes

1️⃣Initiate the glute bridge and pick up your hips by driving through the heel and squeezing your glutes. Do NOT arch your lower back. 
2️⃣At the top position, hold + squeeze
3️⃣Your body should be in a straight line from the knees to the shoulders.
4️⃣Control the negative with your glutes.
5️⃣For the duration of the exercise, it’s important to keep your rib cage tucked toward your hips. Do not allow your rib cage to lift or lower back to arch.
5️⃣Make sure that your weight remains on the heel

Had and awesome weekend out in Skaha with my homies. From cruising through some relaxing 5.10s to grunting like a dying animal on 12 Step Derailer (13a) this had to be one of the best May long weekends in my memory. Every time I get a chance to be out at the lake and hop on Not Fade Away (12b) I remember how lucky I am to have this opportunity. Sometimes it’s mind blowing to see pictures of yourself from the past and barely recognize the person in the photo.
