Eating fruit and vegetables that are colorful is so important to your health. Different colors signify different health benefits. Red food has lycopene and anthocyanin, important for reducing risk of cancer and diabetes as well as improving skin and eye health. Orange and yellow fruit and veggies contain alpha and beta carotene which the body converts to vitamin A. This important vitamin supports immune function, eye health, and strong joints and bones. The list goes on and on... I love the bright red, orange and yellow colors in my first meal of the day. It has roasted sweet peppers, tomatoes, carrots, and chickpeas on top of fresh arugula and quinoa. For a burst of flavor I also added kale chips and tessemae’s avocado ranch dressing. I always try to build my meals around veggies. They are a foundation to my meals 90% of the time. Using a variety of different veggies, cooked in a multiple of ways keeps it fun and interesting...
• large handful of sautéed spinach with cherry tomatoes with broccoli sprouts + lemon 🍋

2. Carbs
I often cook root vegetables as my preferred choice of carbs. Here I am using new potatoes. They are straight forward to cook and the perfect size to not bother worrying about slicing. Their skin goes crispy on the outside when roasted.
• large handful of new potatoes roasted in macadamia oil

3. Protein
I went for a lean source but thighs for me are more flavourful and tender.
• Pan grilled Chicken breast in cumin and garlic marinade

4. Fats
• Smashed avocado.
Real simple smashed a ripe avocado with a fork in a bowl added lemon juice and salt. Presto.

The calories for this meal approx 550. I generally would not count the veggies. It’s a waste of time in my opinion and their is more important things to be concerned about.

Some days life gets a bit crazy and on those days I have create ‘mostly’ home cooked meals. This is pre-made organic pumpkin soup (from a cardboard ox container - never from can...toxic aluminum). I threw in some organic chicken breast that I bulk cooked early in the week & then reheated (on stove top - not microwave to retain enzymes & other nutrients) then topped with slices of avocado and a whole cup of micro-greens and sprouts. 5 minutes from start to finish.

Ok, I thought there is nothing I can do about my hormones changing. I thought I simply have to accept the little pitches here and there.... WRONG! if your nutrition is right you might have to tweak your workout a bit and your food intake a bit and it simply takes a bit longer. I am not a diet person! I LOVE FOOD! I am very inconstant sticking to diets but what works for me is simply done in 3 steps every Morning and has changed my lifestyle!!! Want to know more? I am more than happy to share...

She’s more conscious of her posture and focuses on her health like never before. Each time she walks in the door it’s another reminder of why she chose this lifestyle. She enjoys being with like minded people who are taking action of their own health. She also continues to listen to the doctors radio show, Maximize Your Health, on Saturday’s at 11am. She sees how sick her coworkers are and how many sick days they take throughout the year. She gets 7 a year and has yet to take a sick day in the last 3 years! She only uses her sick time as personal days to do something fun for herself or spend time with family! How amazing is that?!⁣⁣

She also said she looks forward to her yearly follow up x-rays. At her last exam Dr. Liz gave new recommendations for her home care and even reviewed her bloodwork. Upon review Dr. Liz suggested that she start adding in some salt and lemon to her water to help with dehydration. Evy said it has been so helpful and it’s something she looks forward to having in the mornings!⁣⁣

She’s more conscious of her posture and focuses on her health like never before. Each time she walks in the door it’s another reminder of why she chose this lifestyle. She enjoys being with like minded people who are taking action of their own health. She also continues to listen to the doctors radio show, Maximize Your Health, on Saturday’s at 11am. Evy said it’s a deeper reminder of the importance of Chiropractic care and it’s fun to listen to Dr. Xavier talk about his research.⁣⁣

Cudownych sposobów i diet na zrzucenie wagi znam tysiące, sam próbowałem wielu z nich. Kiedyś zdecydowałem się na kupienie jakiejś gotowej rozpiski od internetowego trenera, i wiecie co ? Wytrzymałem na niej 2 tygodni : „Pieczywo tylko na śniadanie , owoce nie później niż 18 , nie sól za dużo , makaron raz w tygodniu”. Po pierwszym tygodniu chodziłem tak sfrustrowany, że obraziłem się nawet na trening. Co to za life jak nie można nawet przekąsić tego co lubisz ?

Temat redukcji to temat rzeka, ale ja mam trochę prostszy pogląd na sprawę. Jeśli nie masz żadnych przeciwwskazań chorobowych, jedyne co musisz zrobić to być na ujemnym bilansie kalorycznym. Najłatwiejsza metodą, która u mnie przyniosła fajne efekty jest liczenie kalorii. Cała filozofia polega na tym żeby przez 3-4 dni zapisywać sobie codziennie jakie posiłki przyjmujemy (wliczając w to napoje). Wszystko wrzucamy do darmowego programu na smartfona np. FitaTu, który wylicza nam ile kalorii przyjęliśmy danego dnia. Zależnie od stopnia naszego zapuszczenia i oczekiwanych efektów obcinamy sobie około 300 kalorii. Na przestrzeni tygodni musimy obserwować czy nasza waga spada, jeśli nie to znaczy że musimy obciąć kolejne 200-300.

Co możemy zrobić żeby pozbyć się tych kilkuset kcal ? Ja zrezygnowałem z oryginalnej coli na rzecz coli zero. Zmniejszyłem trochę porcję i zacząłem jeść więcej warzyw. Czy zrezygnowałem z przekąsek i Fast foodów ? Niekoniecznie bo nie umiem sobie zupełnie ich odmówić. Oczywiście, nie idźmy w drugim kierunku i nie spędzajmy każdego obiadu w Mc’u. Jeśli nie przygotowujesz się do zawodów i jesteś zupełnie zdrowy to niebo nie zawali się od jednego batona , albo kebaba. Ty masz się dobrze czuć nie tylko fizycznie, ale i psychicznie ! Trening na poziomie amatorskim ma być przede wszystkim przyjemnością (to tak apropo świąt)

REHAB VS TRAINING. I find rehab is important and my favourite training aside training as I am also an athlete, injuries are part of the sport and, life understanding and working with both is important.

🧠 Yes with Rehab there maybe more to think in terms of pain, fear, limitations but the “CORE” principles is the same

🏋🏻 Push the body at a level that induces it to build more STRENGTH and RESILIENCY (through progressive overload), and do so in a way that is SPECIFIC to the goal that you intend to achieve

💯 The difference is the STARTING POINT

💥 In rehab, you are usually starting at a much LOWER level of load capacity, so things like lifting your arm to grab a cup out of the cabinet may be too difficult or painful. Therefore, since your activity tolerance is lower, we need to be smart about prescribing exercises that increase your ability to perform a given task (OVERLOAD) without pushing too far too fast ("PROGRESSIVE" and gradual is KEY), all while making them SPECIFIC to the task at hand

It’s so easy to under estimate how many calories you have consumed if you’re not tracking, and on top of that you can slurp down a 500 calorie coffee within minutes and forget it ever happened

The strategy should be to set up your calories and macronutrients in a way where you’re not starving consistently. Having a 500 calorie drink will make you hungry in an hour tops, since liquids are digested faster. This gives you less total calories to work with

Petit zoom sur le repas de ce midi 😋, des tagliatelles à base de quinoa, des asperges poêlés, du pastrami épicé et un peu de crème légère avec du persil, du sel et du poivre ! 
Assez simple, mais moi, j’aime le simple, qui s’adapte à ma diet 🤗. Sinon je suis contente, ma blessure au talon est quasi-guérie 🎉. Je vais pouvoir avancer sainement dans les petits running et dans mes entraînements, avec le petit objectif du semi de Lisbonne dans un temps que j’ai en tête 🙈. J’ai hâte, et ça me laisse de la marge pour progresser... car là, c’est retour à 0 😅. Bon appétit à vous 😘 et belle journée ❤️ PS : je suis en version test dans les photos du moment... du coup, mon feed est un peu flou... j’attends de nouveau fond photo de chez @pastryandtravel 🤗.
