Following a poll I created a few days ago, the majority, 88%, voted strength over mobility as being the most important part of working out.

As an ex-competitive-athlete, I have had my fair share of training programs and almost ALL of them focused on building strength and power. .
.
.
This was because my sport required me to haul my ass up off the ground and rotate 3 times with elegance and grace. Have you ever tried to land, with 8x your body weight in gravitational weight, on a single thin piece of sharpened metal? It’s not easy. .
.
.
For my race fans out there, I had to fight against very similar G-Force as our dirt oval drivers to stop this momentum of speed 🤷🏼‍♀️
.
.
.
How is this relevant to mobility vs strength? .
.

Speaking from personal experience.
After retiring at the ripe age of 22, I think, I was plagued with injuries, aches, and pains. Knee pain, ankle pain, compressed disks in my back, shoulder laxity, and a few cracked and bruised ribs, mobility brought me BACK TO LIFE! .
.
.
Focus on being able to move your body before loading it with extreme load. Prevent those injuries, educate yourself on proper training, and take your body to a whole other level! 
By this, i mean PAIN FREE LEVEL!!!

kettlebell swings can be a spicy leg day finished IF you do them right ⬅️‼️

I see a lot of people try to squat and front raise that ish, and let me tell you, that ain’t it 😬😬...
.

it’s a hip hinge movement, so everything should be coming from your pelvis. I like to think about it like this:
-shift your butt back but not down as you bring the weight behind you
-drive through your heels (gets that 🍑🍑)
-use your arms as hooks
-send the hips foreword explosively so that the pelvis pushes the forearms out and the momentum of the weight carries them up

watch till the end to see how I end the movement. don’t try to fight momentum, cause when the weight gets heavy enough, you not gon win that one

One of my all time favourite warm ups is the bridge. 🌉 ⠀⠀
It works the hamstrings, lower back, abs, in addition to the glutes. ⠀⠀
With many of the benefits similar to that of a squat, another plus for the glute bridge is that it does not place any pressure on the lower back. This is also a great exercise for people who are unable to squat due to back, hip, or knee pain.

I swore 2019 would be my best year since life changed for me.l back in 2012.  That was seven years ago.  A quarter of the year has passed and it’s time to take that leap, to write that action plan, and to move forward fearlessly.  So far, it’s been a year of re-invention that a lot of people have decided they don’t like so much.  I’ve had to make room for things that matter to me.  I’ve invested in myself physically and I need to begin to invest in myself mentally and spiritually which I believe I’m trying to do.  As summer approaches for myself and my educator peeps...my goals are to train in ways I haven’t enjoyed previously to become stronger...embrace what I don’t like, care less about what people think, learn how to feel... really feel, and do whatever I want without approval. Meet Samantha, 
a remarkable, strong, happy, confident student athlete in her 3rd year of CrossFit. 
At first, Sam was so sweet & shy, &  like many young girls she was reluctant to come to a gym & try CrossFit.  In fact, she struggled to even walk in the door.  But her parents convinced her to come to our first Girls Gone Strong program. It didn’t take long for her to start coming on other days to train with her Dad. 
Fast forward 3 years & now we see a very different person.  Sam is definitely stronger & more physically fit but she’s also more outgoing, happier, & she beams with confidence.  She’s the first to help other people in class & this year competed & kicked some serious a#& in the CrossFit Open.  Her mental game has changed & she’s truly an inspiration at CFTB.  Sam, we are all so proud of how far you’ve come & thrilled that you’re one of our very cool #girlswholift!

Nice shoulder workout today , sadly wasn’t able to record none of my gym partners were around today :( . Today I did behind the back shoulder flys each shoulder for a 4x15 , then 4x15 on shoulder raises ( still on cables) . I then switched to a 10 lb dumbbell and did side shoulder raises . Headed over to shrugs and did 275 for a top set of 275x6 then worked down to 255 for 4x8. Lastly I headed to a seat and did shoulder presses but with the dumbbells sideways and more in the front ( not sure what you call that ) for a 4x15 with 30 lb dumbbells.

I love working out my upper body it makes me feel powerful👊🏼 If you don’t think working out your back is important. IT 100% IS. ▫️
I know people believe that training your back is hard because you can’t see your back and it’s hard to focus on. This is why mind to muscle connection is very important. Your upper back muscles and lats form one of the largest areas of the upper body. Enhancing the size of these muscles will give you the illusion of a smaller waist. Who doesn’t want that? 😏

1️⃣Close Grip Lat Pulldown- 4x12
✅Keep chest up

2️⃣Single Arm Lat Pulldown-  4x12 each arm
✅Keep back straight

3️⃣Rear Delt Flys- 4x12
✅Keep one hand slightly above other

4️⃣Behind the Neck Pulldowns-  3x12
✅ Lean head slightly forward 
5️⃣Bent Over DB Row- 4x12 each arm
✅Keep back flat and chest up ▫️
