Tuesday is #chestday and I had a strong(ER) day than I've had in a while although it's still weak.

The flat bench is 155 which is over my current body weight and I can see I'm struggling with the weight. Watch how quick I let the bar come down to my chest, instead of controlling the down with #discipline

I'll get my size back I just have to be patient, dedicated, and consistent

Sometimes a girl just needs to re-evaluate, fix the ponytail and change things up.

My last month has been okay. My #nutrition is much closer to where it needs to be. And I have been running - probably not as much as I should but, you know, life. So I am going back to the basics.

Arms and abs this morning. Nearly gave up on the last set of abs but I pushed through. Did a PB of chest press with 10kg dumbbells. A little transparent post today because a lot of the times we think we only see the highlight of people’s lives on Instagram and not as much the struggles. But i want to say If you’re struggling today, you’re not alone🖤

The past couple days I haven’t been feeling 100%. I’ve been feeling down mentally & physically not my best. I’m constantly comparing myself to my last show and my last prep. Shows after the first are harder because you have something to compare to. I am not always motivated, I am not always wanting to come to the gym and do cardio or my workouts, but I do know that being on stage and being the best I can be is something I WANT BAD. But that doesn’t mean I won’t listen to my body and listen to what it’s telling me. If I need to sleep in and and get my workout done at a later time than I wanted, I’m going to do that. Because my body NEEDS rest and doesn’t need to be on the go 24/7.

I just want to remind you to keep pushing yourself through the hard days because that’s where you’ll flourish the most. That’s when you grow the most. So I’m encouraging you today to be the best you can be and do something today your future self will thank you for. A little transparent post today because a lot of the times we think we only see the highlight of people’s lives on Instagram and not as much the struggles. But i want to say If you’re struggling today, you’re not alone🖤

The past couple days I haven’t been feeling 100%. I’ve been feeling down mentally & physically not my best. I’m constantly comparing myself to my last show and my last prep. Shows after the first are harder because you have something to compare to. I am not always motivated, I am not always wanting to come to the gym and do cardio or my workouts, but I do know that being on stage and being the best I can be is something I WANT BAD. But that doesn’t mean I won’t listen to my body and listen to what it’s telling me. If I need to sleep in and and get my workout done at a later time than I wanted, I’m going to do that. Because my body NEEDS rest and doesn’t need to be on the go 24/7.

I just want to remind you to keep pushing yourself through the hard days because that’s where you’ll flourish the most. That’s when you grow the most. So I’m encouraging you today to be the best you can be and do something today your future self will thank you for. Tbh y’all, I’m not where I want to be yet. Not physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Each day I take time in my day to focus on each of these important things so that I may grow each spectrum more and more. Today, I taught a killer spin class where I made us all do at least 45 min of HEAVY hill sets on the bike. I asked my class if they wanted to build their booties and with a joyous “YES” from my clients, I proceeded the rest of class by focusing on our lower legs and crushing and brutalizing those heavy hills as our muscles are now stretched, sore, and thriving to build bigger and stronger.

Mentally, I’ve set out a To-Do List for myself today that must be tackled and accomplished before days end. To which this includes applying for schools and new job opportunities. Bonus: I’ll be receiving my second IV treatment from @integrativemedical360 today which makes me feel super energetic and more cognitively aware afterwards and I can’t wait. Aaaand later I plan to read the last few chapters of “Girl, Stop Apologizing” by the very best, @msrachelhollis! If y’all haven’t snagged this book—YOU NEED TO! 😍🙌🏼

Spiritually, I’ve taken time out of my morning today to list 5, just 5, things I am grateful for. I intend to make this a habit each day from here on out to remind myself that life is a blessing and being grateful arts the mood for a more positive day. In addition, I read a bible verse that an old friend from Boot Camp gave to me to keep in my belongings for my future endeavors and challenges. I felt it was a sign to have found this small, slightly ripped piece of paper among my things as I tidied up my room just now.

I may not be exactly where I’d like to be, but there isn’t anything stopping me now from getting there. Happy Monday y’all! Kick ass and take names, always.

MONDAY MOTIVATION: Three of the four trainers for Geri Gonsalves Fitness are over 40. This pic was taken of me and one of my GG Fitness Trainers, Jeremiah yesterday after our Renagade Workout session full of high intensity moves and strength exercises. Both of us are over 40 and are stronger than we’ve ever been!!!! Staying Fit in your 40’s and beyond is soooooooooo possible Fit Fam,!! Stay on course with being active and eating well... the journey is so worth the sacrifices !! 😘

Have you ever got to the gym and stood there like now what? Totally lost with no real plan. Have you ever looked at the free weights and been scared to pick up the weights. What do I do to get the results I want. ⠀⠀

I want to share with you something I tell all my clients. Most people overthink the exercise part and complicate it. We scroll on social and assume I’ll just do what she’s doing, right? Exercise counts for 20% of your results the other 80% is nutrition. Don’t make it hard babe. ⠀⠀

🏃‍♀️ The exercise should be fun and doesn’t need to be complicated. As long as your active you’ll be okay. I want you to think outside of traditional bodybuilding. Start easy join a bootcamp style group workout, try a class, take the kids to the park and get active for 30 min straight. There are so many options like yoga, Pilates, a spin class. Ask yourself what do I enjoy and then do that. Be open to trying new things and having fun. 😃⠀⠀

You’ll stick to your program if your doing something you love and your seeing results. Make sure your nutrition is on point for the results you want to get. Nutrition is 80% if your results so really pay attention to that part. We can eat to gain, eat to lose, eat to maintain but your macro count will differ for all of these goals. ⠀⠀
