We all know it's important...

Fruits & veggies are vital for optimal health and as a bonus, they help fill your belly bum for fewer calories.
⠀
But let's be honest — how many of us can effortlessly eat the recommended 5-6 servings of fruits & veggies each day...
⠀
A lot of people think it's because they don't like eating fruits & veggies, but I disagree.
⠀
I believe it can be fixed with proper planning and preparation.
⠀
In fact, when you have strategies in place that make fruits & veggies convenient and tasty, you might be surprised to find how easy it gets to include (and enjoying) more fruits & veggies in your diet!

Here are six strategies I use for myself and with my clients on a regular basis to help get ‘em in:

1️⃣ Make 'em Convenient - you'll be a LOT more likely to eat the fruits & veggies in your house if they're pre-washed, pre-chopped, and ready to go.
⠀
2️⃣ Eat 'em To Start Your Day - you'll start with a "win," which will build momentum to continue eating fruits & veggies the rest of the day.
⠀
3️⃣ Eat 'em First During a Meal - start your dinner with a salad or piece of fruit.
⠀
4️⃣ Make 'em Your Snacks - When I’m having a snack, It's almost ALWAYS a piece of fruit or vegetable (usually paired with protein).
⠀
5️⃣ Don't Fear 'em Frozen - No, frozen fruit & veggies are not bad for you. No, they don't have significantly fewer nutrients either. If someone says they’re bad, you have my permission to smack ‘em upside the noggin 👋.

6️⃣ Add Flavor & Spice to 'em - don't be afraid to add sauce or seasoning to your veggies. It'll improve their taste, and you'll be more likely to eat ’em. (Just make sure your sauces aren't adding a buttload of sneaky calories 😉)

42 and running in my first Flying Pig in less than 2 weeks!  What's even crazier is I am running faster and at a much lower heart rate than at any point in my 30's. Its amazing what your body can do with PTK's, even if it isn't running! Whats your better going to look like?

This is not meant to guilt trip anyone, but a friendly reminder that YOU are worth it!

If we don’t have our HEALTH, we don’t have much. Individuals will spend $$ on high end clothes & shoes, hair appointments, mani & pedis, and TARGET 🎯 runs, oh Lord!

But, if you are not happy with the body you are in, those things are just band-aids.
.
You deserve to feel energized and alive.💚

This is not meant to guilt trip anyone, but a friendly reminder that YOU are worth it!

Did a 30min full body workout today and it felt so good. I'm not focusing too much on getting my workouts in because hey, I'm on holiday so it's okay but I really wanted to this morning so got my ass to the hotel gym.
Also this is the first time ever I've worked out in shorts and I couldn't care less, it's just too hot for leggings so embracing the cellulite and stretch marks.

Your body does not want to lose anything even if you mentally may want it too. Once your body figures out what your doing to it, your body will adapt and you will see less change doing the same thing. So you have to shock your body and get that metabolism back firing. As you want your body to burn  your own fat for the liver to produce ketones for energy not always relying on outside Fats or Supplements. You want to burn your own fat RIGHT? Well make sure you allow your body to be the fuel source, keep your calories in check and in a deficit.

Hello kids, I'm back from the dead after the bank holiday weekend with yet another migraine (but no this one isn't alcohol related). There were blue WKDs, carveries, period pains, a spicebag, and a cookie in my life this weekend so safe to say I've been a bit of a bastard to the plan, but just gotta get back on it right after all the mess and you'll be grand 😎 although in saying that, I was a bit of a mess this evening cause of my headache and didn't have a proper dinner, and only one HexA, but how or never 👌

B: 2 eggies, apple, Alpen bars (HexB) •
L: SP day so I had bacon and veggies with broccoli rice instead of regular rice, with cheese (HexA), fruit, green tea, and more Alpen bars (2nd HexB)

D: The migraine pains were strong and I couldn't cook so my mam made vegan pizza and I had a slice. Could've sworn I took a pic of this, however, it was dark cause I had the lights off and my mam just handed me the plate and backed out of the room slowly so as not to poke the bears migraine, so maybe I just imagined I took a pic. Was only a little slice and I had all my syns so should be covered 👌

There is a great debate between lifting with heavy or light weights. Some people think that you always have to lift heavy no matter what. Others think lifting heavy is only for strength training athletes and that the 8 to 12 rep range is where all the gains are made. However, you should be lifting all weights in all rep ranges. With the acception of a beginner who I believe should lift with light to moderate weights and work their way down throughout time to heavier weights, it is evident that lifting both heavy and lighter (a relative term) weights are paramount for building muscle mass. I'm addition, there are benefits to each that the other doesn't necessarily have. I like to structure my workout where I train with heavier loads at the beginning of my workout when I'm the freshest and lighter loads near the end though you can even structure your week so one workout is dedicated to heavier loads and the other is dedicated to lighter loads (e.g. upper heavy, lower heavy, upper light, lower light). Regardless, train with all weights in all rep ranges to build the most amount of muscle, become strong and functional, and be a well-rounded lean and fit individual.

Deadlifts are one of the best exercises you can do. It literally works almost every muscle in your body, specifically muscles from the posterior chain. Now, there are a few different variations, some even of which are unorthodox. Two variations that are quite popular are conventional and sumo deadlifts. Both are amazing for the core, glutes and even the hamstrings to a degree, but conventional stress more of the back while sumos stress more of the quads. This is simply due to the positioning of your legs as they are much wider and involve more knee flexion than conventional deadlifts. Both variations are good and I think experimenting with both is optimal. As always, focus on learning the movement first then adding weight. I personally do 4 to 5 sets of 4 to 7 reps of deadlifts in pull workouts only after I have learned the correct form.

i’m feeling super tired today so i prob won’t do my exercise for today! there’s always tomorrow! 🤗 -
day two of vegetarian keto:

breakfast: low carb chia pudding with 4 veggie dogs and 1/2 an avocado -
lunch: 1/2 head of romaine lettuce with 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese, 6 strips of beyond chicken, 1 medium boiled egg, 1/2 an avocado, salt, pepper and 1 tbsp of olive oil.

dinner: baked cauliflower seasoned with cayenne pepper, garlic powered, olive oil and salt, 4 veggie dogs and 2 eggs -
net carbs: 31g

Ok so this is not the prettiest workout (lol the first vid had my dying as I was watching it) but it gets your medial glutes burningggg. I’m not really used to resistance, and my medial glute is really weak so pls don’t make fun of my clamshells 🥺

I was actually supposed to get my workout in at the gym but ya girl forgot her shoes so I was pretty annoyed.
But you improvise! Adapt! Overcome! (Please someone understand that meme reference)
.
So anyway, my medial glutes have been lagging lately so I decided to do a workout dedicated to them. I repeated this circuit three times, and that was more than enough lol. 
The amount of reps is variable for everyone on this kind of thing, just remember to do the same # on both the left and right sides to make sure your growth is even. 🍑

Well, well April has been a month of injury and setbacks. Started with a finger sprain, then I got my left foot checked for an injury that happened when I was 3 years old and I had been self medicating for years and now pain medication had stopped working, and I was in constant pain 24/7; Dr found several lesions on my left foot, A condition called "Tenosynovial Giant cell tumor" that was pushing on my tendons, and me adding extra pressure on top of it wasn't helping, no wonder I was in so much pain and was limping every day after CrossFit , as I was walking to work or any activity that involved my left foot. So I have been told to completely stop any physical activity and not bear any weight on left foot at all.They have advised me to wear Cam walker and walk minimally that is if I have to .This meant no crossfit, no heavy lifting, no high intensity workouts, not even walking long distance, running was not even an option; everything I loved for past 6 years, I was told to not do it anymore.  As anyone in denial would do, I cried and sulked for days last week, but then made up my mind and was determined to find a way around it. I put together a plan of workouts, I could do without bearing any weight on my left foot. That meant I barely lift any weights,  nor bear any weight on my left foot, but so be it. I have come to terms with that. Waiting for my cam walker , so that I can isolate my left feet completely, for now I am lifting my forefoot off the ground when doing any workout, or not using left foot at all. Until I find permanent solution for this  and be completely painfree , I will do what I can do , keep my chin up and stop sulking.
People are dealing with far worse and I still have this gift called life so, well thankful and happy to have been able to break into some sweat 😊
