Objemová část soutěžního období

Tato část přípravy má za úkol vybudovat pracovní kapacitu a toleranci těžších vah v pozdějších fázích tréninkového procesu.

V rámci tréninků metodou maximálního úsilí (1-3 opakování; 85-100%) je tak využíváno především větší množství sériií s konstantní zátěží. 
Tento postup sice neumožní dosáhnout tak velké intenzity (zátěž se pohybuje v rozsahu 85-92,5% maxima), ale na druhou stranu umožní dosažení většího tréninkového objemu s vahou, která má stále pozitivní vliv na rozvoj maximální síly, techniky, koordinace a tvoří základ pro pozdější užití zátěží v rozmezí 92,5-100 % maxima.

¡Buenos días!
Hoy os muestro un ejercicio de movilidad de los dedos del pie.
Yo, particularmente, tengo muy poca movilidad del pie a causa de mi pie cavo y dedos en garra 😅 Por eso estoy muy contento de mi progresión. Aunque hay mucho por mejorar, debéis saber que días atrás no era capaz de levantar los cuatro últimos dedos sin despegar el dedo gordo del suelo y a la inversa. 
Hoy, poco a poco, mi SNC va integrando estos movimientos nuevos para que los reconozca y cada día sea más fácil realizarlos.
La movilidad es dedicarle tiempo pero al final tiene su recompensa. Y lo más importante, un cuerpo más móvil es un cuerpo más saludable y le podemos sacar más rendimiento 💪

Aim for abnormal goals even if it means standing alone in the process. If not get back into your comfort zone and stay with the herd.

What is a calorie deficit?
Simply put, it’s less calories than you need to maintain your current body weight.

CALORIE DEFICIT- less than maintenance. 
MAINTENANCE- what it take for you to maintain. 
CALORIE SURPLUS- more than maintenance.

Essentially any diet works that puts you in a calorie deficit... high carb, low carb, high fat, low fat, paleo, vegan, vegetarian, Keto, IF, clean eating ... the list goes on.
There is not one perfect diet as we are all different, have different lifestyles & preferences. Choose the diet strategy that works for you and that you can stick too. You do not have to cut out whole foods groups, whole macronutrient groups, etc to make progress. Why suffer if you don’t have to? But if you truly enjoy not eating carbs then go for it! 😆
I eat a lot of whole foods but I also eat other types of foods on a fatloss diet that a lot of people tend to avoid like chocolate, pancakes, ice cream, fruit, white rice and just higher carbs in general. If you thought these foods are bad ...they are not. No food is “bad”. Some are more calorically dense and some are more nutrient dense. Optimally one would want the majority of their diet to be nutrient dense 🥑🥒🍊🥭 but there is nothing wrong with having 🍫. As long as you stay within your dietary limits for the day/week you can totally reach your goals. 
I’m personally a more flexible than rigid eater. Even on my last contest prep I was flexible and ate all the foods above & still dropped 30lbs. 
In the end calories are king 👑 and it’s all about energy balance.

To say that I hate cardio is an understatement. One of the reasons why I could never stick with treadmills or stair masters or machine based workouts, because it was too repetitive, too boring. Hey, if it works for you, that’s awesome!
Running outside, yeah I live in a city and I couldn’t stand the exhaust from everyone’s car. 
This is a video of me doing a 20 minute workout from the convenience of my home. 20 minutes, and by the end of it, I was drenched in sweat, I felt as though I had just finished running three miles like I was being chased the whole time. I could feel my heart racing for the next 20 minutes. How useful is your 6 pack?

Aside from getting digits 📱or using it as a makeshift washboard, are your abdominals really fit for purpose?

The main function of the core isn’t to perform endless crunches, but to resist movement from external forces.

The ability to maintain balance and a neutral spine during activity is more indicative of a strong core, and more transferable to the sports field ▶️ anti flexion / extension
▶️ anti rotation
▶️ anti lateral flexion / extension

Those are three of the main functions of your midline muscles, and three of the most integral from a performance point of view.

Next time you’re about to throw in some core work at the end of a session - think about trying some of the above instead and see how you get on 👊

Many people perform this exercise without knowing the potential risks it can cause in the future. An upright row forces the shoulder into internal rotation while still bringing the weight up, which can lead to shoulder impingement. Now this may vary for everyone because everyone is different. Some individuals can feel pain/discomfort immediately while others don’t feel any discomfort for years. Over time, with the constant wear and tear of the joint from the movement, it increases the risk of injury. Needless to say, there are other alternatives that target the side delts just as well.

In the video ⏪swipe left⏪, I am performing a “high pull” (stolen from the one and only jeff cavaliere 💪🏽) this exercise is great because it still focuses on driving the elbows up and out to target those side delts but going into an externally rotated position which will protect the shoulder joint more. When training, one should train for longevity. So keep in mind, just because someone else is doing an exercise and it looks like it worked for them does not always mean it will work for you. The high pull can also be done using cables

So when it comes to planks: which is the “correct” way?

⚠️-The top photo demonstrates a “hollow” hold. This produces an emphasis in the thoracic space and girds the upper body. This is often adopted by those of the calisthenic inclined. This is an excellent example of what to do to strengthen the abdomen and thoracic spaces HOWEVER a reinforcement of the common anterior pelvic tilt (apt). Those with apt tend to have lower back pain and stiffness especially if not strengthening the posterior chain!

✅-So in comes the middle photo: a neutral pelvis to shoulder ratio. Considered by most the “standard hold”. This position teaches the whole of the trunk to gird itself while communicating with the upper and lower body. Not to say it isn’t without its caveat: most find bottom lung breathing quite a challenge in this position so they tend to hold their breath while holding. This creates abdominal stability sure, but provokes rigidity and an increase in blood pressure which is contra-indicated in many wellness programs.
.
🚫This leads to the bottom position: most aptly named the “lazy plank” often shown to cause pain and pinching in the low back and stress in the neck. Very little core activation is displayed, so if you find yourself in this position (even with the best of intentions) I would suggest regressing either into a kneeling (half) plank OR find yourself elevating your upper body to reduce stress (this mimics the top position and is not a long-term fix)

Not to say it isn’t without its caveat: most find bottom lung breathing quite a challenge in this position so they tend to hold their breath while holding. This creates abdominal stability sure, but provokes rigidity and an increase in blood pressure which is contra-indicated in many wellness programs.

🚫This leads to the bottom position: most aptly named the “lazy plank” often shown to cause pain and pinching in the low back and stress in the neck. Very little core activation is displayed, so if you find yourself in this position (even with the best of intentions) I would suggest regressing either into a kneeling (half) plank OR find yourself elevating your upper body to reduce stress (this mimics the top position and is not a long-term fix)

IRON NEVER LIES !! Every single day is a progression!! Isn't it ?? Here is my progress, last week my PR was - 400lbs. I wanted to increase the weight n I did by 5 lbs each side. Trust me even 5lbs felt like TON!! Again, there is nothing wrong in taking things slowly, so instead of adding lot of weight (ego lifting) at once n getting injured,  Go slow and make progress n take your body to next level!! It's all in our mind, of mind can conceive it, you can achieve it !!! Deadlift OLD PR - 400lbs

It sure does. Scientific evidence suggests we should at least get one, I feel if you’ve gone through something stressful that day you should get 2...I’m gonna have to count all the years I didn’t get any 🤗🤗🧀 let’s make it world hug day today! (And everyday)
