Meditation can be hard for some. The quiet, stillness, or even simply the purpose of meditation can scare individuals off. I have collected a list of apps that have created guided meditations to proide some structure to your practice.

Although I have not used it yet, I am most excited about the App 10% Happier. This meditation is recommended for those who are a little skeptical of meditation or who are a little more fidgety and have trouble staying still. It focuses on improving anxiety and sleep! Best of all, it is free!

Another interesting one I have seen is Insight Timer. This app lets you pick the topic for your meditation and is recommended for those comfortable with meditating. Again this one is also free.

Other non-app options include sitting with your eyes closed and deep breathing which I find works best in the middle of the day.

There re plenty of options out there, you just need to find one that works.

¿De qué beneficios hablamos cuando discutimos sobre la siesta? Esta práctica ha sido estudiada en numerosas ocasiones, dando como resultado varios y diversos beneficios. Por ejemplo, los estudios con adultos han mostrado que tiene la capacidad de mejorar nuestras habilidades cognitivas: acelera el tiempo de reacción y la velocidad de procesamiento de las tareas a acometer.

También ayuda a la ganancia de musculo, ya que durante el sueño se promueve el crecimiento de este tejido. Durante la siesta también. Por otro lado, el sistema inmunitario es uno de los factores que se ve influenciado positivamente por la siesta, especialmente cuando existen problemas de sueño, lo que puede tener consecuencias negativas a medio plazo.

Does anyone else feel like when they hit 30, sleep started to be hard? Well, I did! Seems like I would get to sleep ok, but then something would wake me up, and I’d be tossing and turning for hours. Then maybe I’d get another hour before the alarm went off. So I finally started dabbling with some sleep aids. First I did Advil PM, which works, but could have bad long term effects. Then I tried Luna Natural Sleep Aid (which you can get on Amazon). It works really well. As a mom, I didn’t want some prescription that was just going to knock me out to the point I couldn’t hear my child if he woke up in the night. Luna is very gentle, sometimes, I still wake up, but I am able to get back to sleep quickly and get a good nights rest. Can’t tell you how much getting good sleep has positively impacted me. Also, I was not payed to make this post, just felt that everyone needed to hear about my revelation!
